Carta Folien
Seen from above: a man, a sofa and every page he wrote this year.
A short about a writer who lays his draft out on the floor to find its order. Shot straight down so the pages read like a map, and graded to keep the lamplight warm and the rest of the room in shadow.
Teun shot the whole film from the ceiling, which left the grade one job: keep a floor covered in paper readable as a map.
Warm in the middle, dark at the edges
The lamp sits by the sofa and everything outside its pool falls away. I pushed the edges darker than the camera saw them, so the pages nearest the light read first.
Area | What I did | Why |
|---|---|---|
Lamp pool | Kept it warm | It’s where he works |
Pages | Lifted a little | They carry the story |
Room edges | Pushed to black | Nothing to read there |
Paper is whiter than you think
Printer paper under a tungsten lamp turns orange fast. I held it just off white, so it still looks like paper and not like the lamp.
