A man alone under a dome of forms, papers and glowing blocks.
Opening titles for Fold, a conference about public records. Every paper in the hall is blank on purpose: the sequence is about how much gets kept, not what it says.
Fold opens each year with a title sequence before the first speaker walks on, and the organisers wanted this one to feel like walking into an archive after closing time.
A dome made of paper
We built the room from stacked forms and folders, then put one man in the middle so the scale reads before anything else does.
Why the pages are blank
Records are the subject, but nobody should stop to read them. Blank sheets keep the eye on how much gets kept.
Where the light comes from
Only the glowing blocks give light. Iver kept the paper just bright enough to show its edges.
Cut to the walk in
Sami timed the sequence to the walk from the hall doors to the seats, so people sit down as the last title lands.
“The room had to feel full before anyone spoke, and blank paper did that better than words.”
